Year of the Vav: Will You Partner With God in 2026?

Hello Friends, 2026 is a year to partner with the Lord to expand His Kingdom. Will you allow the Holy Spirit to expand your capacity to birth new life, or will you allow your past to keep you in transition in the year of Vav?

What the Lord Revealed in a Prophetic Dream About 2026

In a dream in early October, shortly after the beginning of the new Hebraic year 5786, I saw an expansive area of flat land with no trees. It reached further than I could see. Many people were walking swiftly and intentionally across the plain. As they moved forward, sharp tent pegs shot down from the sky and hooked the backs of some men’s pants and the backs of some ladies’ dresses. Those that were pegged or hooked to the ground were stuck, unable to move forward. This forced them to look back at the peg that was hooking them to the ground.

See Job 17:9, The righteous keep moving forward, and those with clean hands become stronger and stronger.

In the dream I discerned that these were God’s children, His saints, walking towards a common destination, the coming Kingdom of God. But those that got staked to the ground were like Lot’s wife, looking back at their past life. I knew in the dream that there could be many reasons for this but felt that the Holy Spirit was highlighting two main areas that were keeping His people stuck in this season: offense and doubt or unbelief. When I awoke, I realized that 2026 was the year of the Vav.

What Is the Year of the Vav?

In the ancient Hebrew script, often called Paleo-Hebrew, each letter originated as a simple picture representing a concept or object. In Hebrew, years get written using letters. The current Hebrew year is 5786 and runs from September 22, 2025, to September 11, 2026. The key is the last letter of the year’s number. For the year 5786 (תשפ”ו), the last letter is Vav, which has a numerical value of 6.

Now, connect this back to the simple pictorial meaning, which for the letter Vav originated from the pictograph of a tent peg or a nail. This gives the letter several powerful prophetic meanings:

  • Connection and Joining: A tent peg connects the tent or dwelling place to the ground or earth. Therefore, Vav symbolizes connection, unity, and bringing two things together.
  • Security and Stability: A tent peg secures the tent, making it stable and able to withstand the elements (coming warfare). This implies a year of becoming grounded, establishing security, and strengthening your foundations in the Lord.
  • A Link Between Heaven and Earth: Vav is a connector between the spiritual realm (heaven) and the physical realm (earth). It represents a conduit or a bridge. It connects heaven with earth, bringing the presence of the Lord into its dwelling place on earth, which is the hearts of the sons and daughters of God.

Year of the Vav connects, secures, and joins heaven and earth. 2026 is a year of building new connections in relationships, business, and in the work God calls you to. It’s a time to expand and secure your tent, referring to your home, family, and church community. A year to strengthen your foundations. This is not a year to be a lone ranger or to “worship” God in isolation. This is a year to find your tribe, the presence of the Lord, and your purpose in community. It’s a season to secure and fortify whatever territory God calls you to.

Enlarge the place of your tent, stretch your tent curtains wide, do not hold back; lengthen your cords, strengthen your stakes. Isaiah 54:2.

How To Let God Extend Your Tent and Strengthen Your Stakes?

It’s a question of gratitude, forgiveness, trust, and obedience. Offense and doubt are weights that ground you in Satan’s domain. Offense hardens your heart, turns you inward looking, and decreases your faith in God.

In chapter 12 and verse 14, the author of the book of Hebrews writes, Work at living in peace with everyone, and work at living a holy life, for those who are not holy will not see the Lord.

We may have a right to be offended, but in the Kingdom of God our instructions are to love the Lord our God above all else and to love one another, walking in forgiveness.

We can learn so much from the apostle Paul, a man who gazed at God and uplifted others in the middle of great trials. While in prison, he wrote to the church in Ephesus, focusing on the greatness of God the Father, the glory of Christ, and the power of the Holy Spirit. “All praise to God, the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us with every spiritual blessing in the heavenly realms because we are united with Christ.” Ephesians 1:3

How incredible is this? Every heavenly resource is available to us, but we won’t easily access them if we fix our gaze on ourselves, our offended hearts, and on the things the world can give us. It’s impossible to partner with God if we are stuck in offense towards others. No matter what they have done, Jesus instructs us to forgive. If anyone has the right to walk in offense, its Jesus. We all helped nail Him to the cross. Yet, He forgives us. And if we doubt that God will provide all that we need or we don’t have a revelation of the depth of His love for us, we will rely on our own strength and intellect to resolve problems and provide for our needs. Just because we can do something, it doesn’t always mean it’s God’s will for our lives.

Proverbs 3:5-6 reads, Trust in the Lord with all your heart; do not depend on your own understanding.

If we seek His will in all we do, He will show us which path to take. When we look back like Lot’s wife and not at our Creator and Redeemer, or set our gaze on material blessings and our own intellect and understanding, we inevitably get stuck. Do not misunderstand; I am not saying it is spiritual to aspire to poverty or laziness. Rather, partner with God for the wisdom to create a provision for the vision and work He lays before you.

In the words of Spurgeon, “Our thanks are due to God for all temporal blessings; they are more than we deserve. But our thanks ought to go to God in thunders of hallelujahs for spiritual blessings. A new heart is better than a new coat. To feed on Christ is better than to have the best earthly food. To be an heir of God is better than being the heir of the greatest nobleman. To have God for our portion is blessed, infinitely more blessed than to own broad acres of land. God hath blessed us with spiritual blessings. These are the rarest, the richest, the most enduring of all blessings; they are priceless in value.”

Practicing gratitude, walking in faith, and eliminating negative self speak, or focus, is the quick answer. But, we are human after all, and it’s not possible to do that without the help of the Holy Spirit. Try spending time in prayer by just hanging out with the Lord, quietly meditating on His character, asking the Holy Spirit to open the eyes of your understanding so that you will have a revelation of the greatness of our Creator and His love for you.

Leanord Ravenhill, renowned British evangelist (18 June 1907-27 November 1994) wrote, No man is greater than His prayer life.

Will You Partner With God in 2026?

It’s not too late to partner with God in 2026. He loves you beyond measure, is for you, and longs to work in relationship with you. Our Heavenly Father loves to draw us close and reveal Himself to us. Today is December 8, 2025, and eight is the number of new beginnings. And I sense the Lord calling His sons and daughters to fellowship and rest in the secret place with Him in the last days of December 2025, so that He can share His plans and purposes to build with each one of us in 2026. The new year brings new exploits of faith and building, which the Lord is wanting to share with you today.

I cannot write it any plainer than Spurgeon, If you think little of what God has done for you, you will do very little for him; but if you have a great notion of his great mercy to you, you will be greatly grateful to your gracious God.

Will you connect heaven to earth and build with the Lord in 2026, or will you miss His visitation like the virgins whose lamps were half full in Matthew 25:1-13? This is an encouragement to myself and each one reading this blog post today, draw near to Him and He will tell you remarkable secrets you do not know about things to come. Strengthen yourself in the Lord at the end of 2025 so that you can build in His power and might in 2026. I speak blessing over you as you grow in your faith journey and seek to partner with the Lord.

Prayer

Heavenly Father, in the name of Jesus, I thank you that you have made every spiritual blessing in the heavenly realms available to us. We repent of offence and unbelief. Thank you that you are the one-and-only miracle-working God. Give us an increased measure of faith and help us let go of our offense, doubt, or unbelief, trusting you in all things. Lead us in the paths of righteousness for your name’s sake and deliver us from the evil one. May our faith grow and trust deepen as we intentionally draw close to you. Open the eyes of our understanding and reveal yourself to us. May our eyes look directly forward and our gaze be upon You. Help us thrust forward into the new year in love, joy, faith, obedience, and Kingdom purpose. May we become your light in a dark world. Your Kingdom come, Your will be done on earth as it is in heaven. Amen
